About Susan
I am a board certified Family Physician who has been practicing for over 25 years. I obtained my medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and did residency at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. I am currently licensed to practice medicine in PA, MD, WV and NJ. In addition to helping and treating numerous patients over the years in their personal struggles with substance abuse, especially in chronic pain populations, I have also been through my own journey with alcoholism and recovery. For me success was complete abstinence from alcohol – it was the only way I could change my thinking and perception of reality. This is not necessarily the path for everyone and medications are available to help curb the urges and decrease the amount of alcohol consumed. Regardless of the path chosen, recovery success always involves a clearer perception of reality and our role in that reality. I am passionate to help those seeking to break free of the power alcohol can exert over their lives. All people deserve this freedom.
